Art That Heals™ - The Metaphysical Realms of Irina Gorbman at The Sheen Center
New York, NY – The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture is delighted to announce an enthralling exhibit by noted abstract metaphysical artist Irina Gorbman, titled "Art That Heals™", opening on Friday, May 2 from 5:30 and running through May 30. Located at the heart of New York City's vibrant art scene, the Sheen Center Gallery at 18 Bleecker Street will host this transformative collection.
Gorbman, a Moscow-born artist now based in Massachusetts, is renowned for her deeply intuitive, meditative works that harness the emotional power of color and gesture. Her paintings, described by critics as "visually arresting" and akin to the lyrical abstractions of Joan Mitchell and the intense emotional landscapes of Edvard Munch, carry viewers into profound, inner journeys.
This exhibit showcases her newest series, crafted with oils on canvas, offering audiences a compelling experience of emotional and spiritual rejuvenation. Gorbman’s artistic approach is deeply influenced by personal healing journeys through meditation and self-discovery, elevating her works beyond aesthetic pleasure to become instruments of personal and communal renewal.
In her words, "My paintings function as batteries—sources of energy and clarity in our fast-paced, technology-driven world." Gorbman's creations stand as vibrant meditations, bridging metaphysical traditions and contemporary abstract expressionism. I Create the Healing Power of Art! There is more than meets the eye.
Additionally, Irina presents a captivating new series of round canvases (36”D), painted with oils and embellished with semi-precious stones such as amber, amethyst, malachite, and turquoise.
Each gemstone is chosen specifically for its healing properties, amplifying the inherent therapeutic power of the colors, thus creating an uplifting, high-vibration atmosphere.
The Sheen Center’s flexible gallery space (31’ x 17’, height 9’10.5”) will serve as a sanctuary for contemplation, allowing full immersion into Gorbman's dynamic canvases. Visitors are invited to attend the opening reception, which will include a special artist talk and Q&A session with Irina Gorbman herself.
