About Artist

Irina Gorbman Fine Art

I make large circular oil paintings — tondi — with thick, gestural surfaces, worked in an automatic manner. Some include semi-precious stones and/or art glass.

I go with the flow. My hand picks up colors intuitively, without a preliminary palette or sketches. The practice grows out of more than thirty years of Vipassana meditation. I create the healing power of art.

The more you look, the more you see — mountains, rivers, people, animals that were never intentionally painted.

I trained as a mechanical engineer in Moscow, USSR and later studied at the Fletcher School Tufts. Viewers have noted a European sensibility in the color and handling. Over twenty of my paintings are at Cabot House Furniture & Design in Framingham, where they can be seen during showroom hours.

I work with collectors, designers and architects, and take commissions in custom sizes. Studio visits in Dover, Massachusetts are by appointment, in person or virtually. Delivery within Massachusetts is free.

My paintings breathe multiple lives throughout designs and applications on fashionable and decorative products. Based on my artwork, I created collections of wallpapers and matching fabrics for exclusive interiors.  Artistic products and pattern designs transmit the same uplifting vibe from the original art works.  These high-impact visuals make a statement, elevate energy, and leave people feeling uplifted.

I believe that in our technology-driven world, we need a color boost to feel more energetic and become more holistic. I truly believe that we can be healed by pure colors of the universe, whether we see them or wear them.

You are welcome to schedule a private virtual tour or see these collections in person.  My studio is conveniently located near Boston, Massachusetts.

I am first and foremost an abstract metaphysical artist, secondary I am a designer.

My art always comes first. It’s my ground, my home base, the most truthful representation of who I am.

Art is like air — it comes as effortlessly as breathing; design is an exercise and experiment that requires discipline and focus.

Once the painting is finished, it gives me the inspiration to create a design pattern. See my story via Youtube /@igorbman
